We all know that BlackBerry’s CEO John Chen made an official announcement saying that if “Blackberry Priv” fails to sell 5 million devices, the company will opt out of the smartphone manufacturing business. All eyes are now on Priv’s success. Read on for Blackberry Priv sales details.
Here comes good news for BlackBerry lovers. BlackBerry’s first Android device was listed on Amazon, and to everyone’s surprise, all units were sold out within a few hours. If you land on the Amazon BlackBerry Priv webpage, the site says, “Currently unavailable. We don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock.” After Amazon, Best Buy and B&H are set to sell the phone for $699.99.
In the page of Best Buy, it says Shipping: Not Available and Store Pickup: Coming Soon. In B&H, it says, “Pre-Order” OR “Notify when in stock.” Blackberry Priv seems to be in demand. AT&T is also selling Priv on a 2-year contract for $249. The carrier is also selling the device under installment in which you will have to pay $24.67 every month for 30 months.
After a long time, we finally have another phone with a physical keyboard. John Chen said, “With BlackBerry’s patented keyboard and the full complement of applications found in Google Play, this device expands our cross-platform strategy and gives end users the best in security, privacy and productivity, with no compromises on applications.”
In short, Blackberry is changing for good. At least this is what it looks like now. Within a few days’ time, we will get to know what Blackberry is aiming at and how soon it will make the devices available to people. Because right now, the demand is high, but the supply is low. Hope this scenario changes sooner than expected.
