Bindi Irwin, the brave daughter of crocodile fighter Steve Irwin, is having the time of her life in “Dancing with The Stars.” The popular contestant on the show performed on “(I’ve Had) the Time of My Life” from the movie “Dirty Dancing” on Monday night and scored a perfect 40 from the judges.
The dance received a lot of applause from judges as well as the audience. Jennifer Grey, who played Baby in the “Dirty Dancing” movie also dropped by rehearsals to boost the confidence of the frontrunner of the show.
Derek Hough, the partner of Bindi, also partnered with Jennifer Grey in a previous season of “Dancing With The Stars.” She and Patrick Swayze performed the number in the movie. Grey mentioned that they never practiced the famous lift before it was filmed and will never try it again. The same one has earned Irwin and Hough’s rumba a perfect score.
Olivia Newton-John was present in the judging table to judge the performance of the contestants in the fifth episode of the show. However, the participants managed to impress the “Grease” star with their moves.
There were two other performances gaining a perfect score for the evening. The dance between Tamar Braxton and Valentin Chmerkovskiy created the perfect rhythm with Janet Jackson’s “Rhythm Nation.” On the other hand, Andy Grammer and Allison Holker nailed it with “Good Morning” from the classic movie “Singin’ in the Rain.”
Paula Deen was eliminated from the show on Monday’s episode. He partner Louis Van Amstel mentioned, “She’s not bitter at all. She’s ready to go home,” adding, “She is relieved. I think we squeezed out as much as we could.”
