While covering for the Rio Olympics, Billy Bush had bragged about the obscene “Donald Trump tape” brazenly to the NBC staff.
This proves that Ryan Lochte infamous interview was not the only reckless thing that Bush had done at Rio. According to Page Six, the embarrassed host of “Today” prompted staffers at “Access Hollywood” in August to track down the “tape of Trump being a real dog” about which he boasted at a party.
Billy after joining “Today” did not inform the NBC news brass about the video tape. An insider said, “Billy was bragging about the tape to other NBC staff while in Rio. If he knew about the tape, and remembered the full extent of such an explosive conversation with a presidential candidate and didn’t disclose that to NBC News, that is a very, very serious problem,” and also added as to how the “morality clause” in his contract could be violated.
It is even debatable, whether he had forgotten the amount of vulgarity and obscenity that was prevalent in his conversation with Trump, or whether he had was protecting himself after realising its news value.
According to Daily mail, the footage was recorded in 20005 during Bush’s term, in the taping of an “Access Hollywood” episode. The producers of Access Hollywood remembered of the tape when Associated Press’ recent story quoted the ex-employees of Apprentice who said that Donald Trump on set was “lewd and sexist”.
Us was informed by an insider that, “Everyone at Access Hollywood was talking about it and how to cover it,” and added, “One of the producers remembered the 2005 tape and the Access tape librarian went through the archives to find the tape.” The tape was published by Washington Post keeping the source unattributed.

The 33 year old Bush told Us , “Obviously I’m embarrassed and ashamed. It’s no excuse, but this happened 11 years ago – I was younger, less mature and acted foolishly in playing along. I’m very sorry,”. Shortly after deleting his Twitter account.
NBC might also be investigating Bush for signs of sexual harassment in the workplace. As per an NBC insider, Today’s female staff after the leaking of the video tape revolted because of the comments he had made on Nancy O’Dell, ex-Access co host, during his foul chat with Trump.
