Angelina Jolie’s female friends may be encouraging a smear campaign in the wake of the actress filing for divorce from her husband of two years, Brad Pitt.
The friends are Lady Arminka Helic, member of the UK House of Lords and a former adviser to Britain’s ex-Foreign Secretary William Hague, and fellow former Hague aide Chloe Dalton.
Helic and Dalton have been known to be supporting Jolie’s campaign against Pitt.
Angelina Jolie Brad Pitt divorce: Arminka Helic, Chloe Dalton fueling the actress’ rage?
According to a source familiar with the matter, Helic and Dalton have been “fueling the actress’ aggressive approach against Pitt” from the beginning.
As reported by Page Six, Another source said, “They have been calling all the networks and news outlets, placing stories that he was cheating, drunk, on drugs, out of control and abusive, which Brad denies.”
As reported by People last year, Jolie, who serves as a Special Envoy for the UN Refugee Agency, had received support in her humanitarian work through a partnership with Dalton and Helic. Jolie collaborated with her friends five years ago when she was working on the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative to end war zone rape.
The partnership between the three, called Jolie Pitt Dalton Helic, has striven to work on issues including women’s rights, refugee issues, health, education, international justice, and violence against women.
Angelina Jolie Brad Pitt divorce: Angelina very close to Dalton and Helic
Speaking with ET, a source said, “Angelina is very close to Arminka and Chloe, and really has left her Hollywood circle in recent years to focus on politics and human rights.” Jolie first met Helic, the source added, through her UN work a few years ago.
“Angelina respects the two of them completely and doesn’t make any decisions without them.”
Helic, who was nominated to the House of Lords two years ago, serves as Jolie’s advisor on political issues the actress is involved in, and issues concerning war-torn countries particularly regarding women and children. She also manages the actress’ charity work. Helic had also encouraged Jolie to become involved with the London School of Economics’ Centre for Women, Peace and Security, according to ET.
