Big Brother 18 flagged off Wednesday night and this time, it has lots of surprises in store for its viewers. So, in Julie Chen’s words “expect the unexpected” this summer, as the show begins with a bagful of twists that includes new set ups and four former contestants.
The mystery contestants, as cued on earlier, are four former houseguests and they have joined the previously announced 12 contestants on the show.
Frank Eudy of season 14, Nicole Franzel of Season 16, and James Huling and Da’Vonne Rogers of Season 17 are the four mystery contestants who were revealed on the show’s premiere on Wednesday night, the E! News reported. The new contestants were, however, not as thrilled to have the old ones to share the house with them.
This season, the show also has siblings of two former contestants. Paulie Calafiore, from New Jersey, is a professional DJ and the younger brother of Season 16’s Cody. The younger sister of last season’s Vanessa, the contestant who not only finished third but also went on to become the most hated contestant of the season, is also competing this year along with Tiffany Rousso, a 32-year-old teacher from Florida, the Washington Post reported.
“There are phone booths and phones — of course not to call out, but to call each other,” Executive producer Allison Grodner said. “At some point it could be revealed that these will play into another twist.”
She added that the theme for this year, i.e, the “summer vacation” has been plotted in a way so that it can be involved in shaking up the game.
In an interview with the EW, she even hinted the return of the Pandora’s box on Big Brother 18.
“It’s been a while,” she said when asked about the Pandora’s Box which was missing from the last few seasons. “We were doing that for a while and we always like to mix things up. You may see it again or you say see it in a different way.
She added, “I’ll tease that — we might have another use for that room that we use for Pandora’s Box this summer.”
