With the not-so-good reviews of “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice,” it is interesting to know how lead star Ben Affleck felt about it. Reportedly, the actor felt “humiliated” of the negative reactions moviegoers and critics gave to the movie.
According to Birth.Movies.Death, Devin Faraci revealed that “My sources have told me that Affleck was incredibly unhappy about the reception of ‘BvS.’”
“He felt humiliated after spending so much of the press tour saying how much better this film would be than ‘Daredevil,’” the sources reportedly claimed. “On top of that his agent was furious when Kevin Tsujihara jumped the gun and announced him as the director of ‘The Batman’ – there were still negotiations happening.’”
“This move seems to help placate Affleck while also edging Zack Snyder out of a controlling central position in the DC Movieverse,” Faraci continued to dish about Ben Affleck’s agent’s alleged reaction to the recent movement happening in his career.
It can be noted that following the reported bad reception of “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice,” the 43-year-old actor and filmmaker has become the executive producer of the currently being filmed Warner Bros movie “Justice League” to give a hand on how it can be done more creatively and be involved “on a very real level.”
By having him as the upcoming project’s EP, the production firm is reportedly optimistic that they will be coming up with something that the public will like, considering that Ben Affleck is “an honestly talented filmmaker.”
Meanwhile, USA Today did a comparison between “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Captain America: Civil War” to dig deeper into the possible recipe that made the latter rake in more good reviews both from the critic and regular moviegoers.
When it comes to their respective villains, the report pointed out that Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) was “over-the-top” in the film, making its mission to force Batman and Superman (Henry Cavill) to turn against each other “hard to follow.”
Meanwhile, it was emphasized as well that Ben Affleck’s “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” “lacks laughs” contrary to “Captain America: Civil War” wherein the Marvel superheroes were cracking jokes while landing punches.
As for the romantic part of the films, Superman and Lois Lane (Amy Adams) appeared to lack chemistry, including that of Ben Affleck’s Batman and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, something which was obviously seen in a single kiss in the film of Chris Evans.
