With “Bates Motel” season 4 finale around the corner, rumors hinted that Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) and his mother Norma Louise Bates (Vera Farmiga) are yet to experience the biggest challenge in their lives.
“Norman and Norma’s relationship faces its greatest test yet,” AETv hinted, adding that Sheriff Alex Romero (Nestor Carbonell), on the other hand, “faces pressure from all sides,” while Dylan Massett (Max Thieriot)” considers reaching out to Norman–but wants nothing to do with Norma.”
Taking off from what the site just said, what could be that “greatest test” that is about to happen to the lead characters?
Based on the synopsis for the “Bates Motel” season 4 shared by the Internal Business Times Australia, there is a possibility that it would be the death of Norma, the loving mother of the mentally-troubled yet friendly teenager.
Unstable as he is, Norman would be the ultimate reason of his mother’s demise because of his longing to always have Norma by his side, especially that Romero and Dylan were convincing her to finally seek medical help for her son’s mental condition. Appeared to be afraid of the said eventuality, he then closed the vents in his mother’s room then turned on the furnace.
As how the IBT would put it, Norman was trying to execute an “ideal murder-suicide.”
Since Norman was saying that he was preparing for a “special event” for Norma, the report suggested that it could be the latter’s funeral.
In the meantime, executive producer Carlton Cuse pointed out with The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday that the show’s followers must make sure to watch episode 10 on Monday so that their questions will find answers.
“Episode 10 is really the deciphering of events and really, as Freddie (Highmore) said, we’re picking up where we left off,” he dished on the “Bates Motel” season 4 spoilers. “We hope the audience is compelled to watch 10 and get a lot of questions answered about what happened in nine.”
