The Assassin’s Creed franchise has always been sloppy in releasing a well strategized pre-order bundle. Year after year, the publishers try but miserably fail to appeal to the community with their pre-order DLC releases. Fortunately, the movie won’t be going the same lane.
The Assassin’s Creed movie team has decided to partner with Kernel, a pre-selling movie ticket site to provide fans with exclusive pre-order contents. The first of its kind marketing in the movie industry, the website currently has eight offers with prices ranging from $15 to $1200. All packages include a movie ticket, a digital copy of the film’s script, and behind-the-scenes extras.
If you’re still wondering if this move has caught up to people yet, one of the pre-order offers priced at $50 (Special Edition Assassin’s Creed Kernal Crate) has already been sold out!
The website is currently featuring a contest that will provide the winner “a trip for two to San Diego Comic-Con® 2016. Includes airfare, accommodations, passes, and awesome Assassin’s Creed gear.”
If you still aren’t in the loop, Assassin’s Creed is a movie (adapted from a video game series) set to release on December 21. But many movies like Dragonball: Evolution and Hitman: Agent 47 has failed to succeed on this path. The trailer looks convincing, except for its annoying mismatched soundtrack.
In other news, the producers have already confirmed that they are going to make a trilogy. Lastly, Assassin’s Creed: Identity, a mobile game, will be released today on Android and an update providing “Forli – A Crimson Sunset” for iOS.
