A DC superhero from one of the four CW shows will be coming out in its upcoming season as a homosexual. Fans have already started wondering who it could be!
After much controversy about shows killing off gay characters in the recent years, CW has decided to rectify it by introducing not one but two gay DC superheroes next year.
While one will be an openly gay animated character from the very beginning, the other one will be a character from one of the four hit CW shows – “Arrow”, “The Flash”, “Supergirl” & “Legends Of Tomorrow” – who will be coming out of the closet in its upcoming season.
According to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg refused to dish any more information on the subject or hint at who it might be because “we really want the audience to enjoy the character developments and not necessarily be ahead of the storyline.”
So it’s up to the fans to guess who the superhero could be. And there have been a ton of theories floating about. While some have predicted that it could be Malcolm Merlyn of “Arrow”, since the actor playing the character, John Barrowman is openly homosexual off screen.
There is also the theory that one of the main characters like Supergirl herself might turn out to be gay, since her character has not been seen seriously involved in a relationship with someone from the opposite sex, even though she has been seen professing a crush towards Jimmy from her office.
According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, CW is air an animated superhero series called “Seed’s Freedom Fighters: The Ray” next year, where the protagonist will be seen as openly gay.
“Arrow” Season 5 premieres on 5th October 2016, “The Flash” Season 3 premieres on 4th October 2016, “Supergirl” Season 2 premieres on 10th October and “Legends Of Tomorrow” Season 2 premieres on 13th October 2016.
