The rumours that declared ‘Maleficent’ star Angelina Jolie dead has enraged the fans to no bound. According to the buzz, the star committed suicide and left behind a shocking video for her loved ones.

The message suggesting Jolie’s death was circulated on Facebook, with the tagline, “CNN Video Footage: Angelina Jolie Says Goodbye to Her Fans and to Brad Pitt Before Doing This Suicidal.”

The post was linked to the website, which has shared death hoaxes of other celebrities like Jaden Smith, Vin Diesel, Jim Carrey, Nicholas Cage and John Cen in recent times as well.

The rumours on her alleged suicide was first reported by Entertainment News Update which left her fans devastated, with many refusing to believe what they read, the Hollywood Life reported. However, it was later found out that the report was a total hoax and had no credence to it.

The footage was captioned, “This is really sad, nobody deserves to die by suicide!! God will settle it all in the end, and only HE knew their heart!! Rest in Paradise, Prayers for the family. Farewell JOLIE!”

The Angelina Jolie dead hoax started to gain grounds because of her long history with eating and mental health disorders.

“Why fb lying talking bout Angelina Jolie died,” posted Twitter user. While another wrote, “Wtf did Angelina Jolie commit suicide??!”

The clickbait website known for publishing death hoaxes on famous people uses various Facebook apps to publish the stories under a wide range of URLs, the Snopes reported. However, there has been no response on the hoax from Jolie and her husband Pitt.

Jolie was recently caught up in another hoax which falsely stated her plans to teach at the Georgetown University, the People reported. However, a representative of the school dismissed the reports saying, Jolie had no such plans currently.

“We enjoy a partnership with the London School of Economics as part of that work, where Angelina Jolie and William Hague are scheduled to teach a class in the fall. There are no current plans for Ms. Jolie to teach at Georgetown,” the representative said.
