Android 6.0 Marshmallow continues to roll out to several devices. For Sony unit owners, the software has now reportedly reached Sony Xperia M4 Aqua, Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z5.
It is taking a while for the rest of the Android community to ad0pt the Android 6.0 software. Nonetheless, it should be some good news to know that Sony continues to seed the firmware to a number of its devices. According to a report from GSM Arena, Sony has been working on the update for the Xperia Z5 lineup for quite some time now. Fortunately, things have been finalized. It should just be only a matter of days before Sony starts to seed the program to Xperia Z5 units over the air. Likewise, other units like the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact and Z5 Premium should also get the update. Furthermore, reports also added that the first region to get access to the update is Turkey. The rest of the world should follow in no time.
Consequently, Sony released the official word on the Marshmallow update for the M4 Aqua. The company answered a query on Twitter and confirmed that the Sony M4 Aqua will no longer be updated to the Android 5.1.1 update. Instead, it will jump directly to the Marshmallow update.
@KarCerKK Regarding your question the Xperia M4 Aqua will skip Android 5.1 and will receive Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).

However, the company did not specify when the actual release of the update will be for the device. Nonetheless, users in the Nordic region can now update their Dual variant units to Android 5.0 firmware.
For Xperia Z3 owners, several concept builds have been released already although many predict that it is only a matter of time before the actual build is released as well. As with other Android update releases, users should confirm with their networks or carriers on the final release of the firmware. Access may also vary per region.
