Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow continues to roll out to a range of devices and at this time, Verizon has released its version. According to the latest information, the company is now seeding the firmware to devices such as the LG G3, LG G4 and the HTC One M9.
It has been a while since the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update was released, but carriers have still yet to complete seeding the firmware to all its intended devices. Thankfully, Verizon just decided to give everyone a treat and release the OTA to several handsets. According to the company’s posts, the LG G3 and the LG 4 are both being updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to version VS98546A and version VS98624C respectively. As for the HTC One M9, there have been reports already that the device will start having access to the firmware around February 16 and Verizon is staying true to that schedule.
This means that LG G3, LG G4 and HCT One M9 users should receive the OTA notification any time soon. All users must proceed with installation once the notification appears. According to Verizon, it is best for users to make sure that they are connected to the Wi-Fi securely. Likewise, all handsets must be fully charged to avoid interruptions and other problems.
Nonetheless, for those who have not received the notification yet, but would like to install the Android 6.0 firmware, there is another option. People can check out the firmware manually. Just go the Settings ont he LG G3 or LG 4 device then proceed through the following: About Phone –> Update Center –> System Updates –> Check for Update. On the HTC One M9, it’s Settings –> System Updates –> HTC software update –> Check Now.
For other carrier editions of the HTC One M9 unit, there are also reports that T-Mobile might be carrying out the update soon. There is no official word on the final release yet but LG G4 under T-Mobile was already updated a few weeks back. Other devices should come sooner.
