Did you ever think that the world famous Speed of Light theory will be challenged? Well, it is not a big secret that even bonafide geniuses are challenged for their theories. Albert Einstein is no exception.
Scientists have started a new experiment that tests Einstein’s concept of the Speed of Light traveling at a constant rate. This can challenge the theory of relativity.
In this new study, two scientists believe that the speed of light could be actually faster at the time when the big bang happened. But currently the scenario might be different.
Albert Einstein Wrong?
According to AOL, if this is true, this will bring a lot of help to the scientists to explain why the temperature of the universe got even so quickly after the Big Bang.
This will also challenge Einstein’s theory of relativity, a big theory in Physics. The scientists have plans to test the new theory on the cosmic microwave background radiation. This according to Forbes maps to the oldest light in the whole universe.
Einstein himself said once, “no amount of experimentation can ever prove me right; a single experiment can prove me wrong.” This backs-up the new theory being experimented by the scientists pair.
Scientists are optimistic about the new theory.
According to RT, João Magueijo and Niayesh Afshordi are the two scientists who proposed this new idea in 1990s.
Recently they came up with the idea of using future observations of cosmic microwave background radiations. Magueijo believes that this theory has reached a testable prediction.
He said, “If observations in the near future do find this number to be accurate, it could lead to a modification of Einstein’s theory of gravity.”
This theory may undergo tests in the coming years. Some scientists like David Marsh from Cambridge University are not completely convinced with this new theory.
