Michael Jordan was leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else in the basketball court. The Jordan Brand will be commemorating MJ’s otherworldly game with a new colorway of the AJ 31.
Hailed as the Air Jordan 31 “One Giant Leap For Jamkind,” the fresh kicks will hit retailers this weekend. The on-court performer will be offered in both men’s and kids’ sizes.
Pitch black engulfs most of the sneakers. Immaculate white can be found on the midsole, while purple adorns the translucent rubber outsole.
The Air Jordan 31 “One Giant Leap For Jamkind” contains full-length Zoom Air cushioning with FlightSpeed technology. Its upper material is a combination of premium leather and closely-knitted Flyweave, Nike reported.

This cushion and material setup is tailor-made for explosive slashers. Interestingly enough, Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook is the shoe’s top endorser.
Other Jordan Brand athletes like Jimmy Butler, Kawhi Leonard and Carmelo Anthony have been spotted wearing Player Editions of the sneakers during game days.
The Flyweave material on the Air Jordan 31 provides flexibility and responsiveness for the toes. Its premium leather on the heel and ankle collar delivers stable lockdown and support.
Schwollo indicated that the Flyweave on the Air Jordan 31 is softer than the Flyweave on its predecessor, the Air Jordan 30. Another main selling point of the sneakers is its step-in comfort. It features a sock-like neoprene inner sleeve with six spongy ankle pillows.
The traction pattern on the translucent outsole is the reliable Herringbone pattern. The condensed grooves offer multi-directional coverage on an assortment of court surfaces.
