Two luxurious versions of the Air Jordan 12 are set to release this weekend. They are the Air Jordan 12 Retro “OVO” and Air Jordan 12 Retro “Wool Dark Grey.”
The first pair is a limited edition sneaker collaboration between Jordan Brand and Drake’s “October’s Very Own” clothing line. The fresh kicks have been talked about online since late 2013.
According to Nike.com, the Air Jordan 12 Retro “OVO” sports premium leather on its immaculate white upper. The Jumpman logos and top two eyelets are tinted in metallic gold. The OVO branding can be viewed through the translucent rubber outsole. It is embossed on the forefoot area of the white sockliner.
As for the second pair, its upper construction features dark gray wool with black leather overlays. The Jumpman logos on the tongue and insole are in metallic silver.
“Though wool covers most of the shoe, It’s a bit of leather on the toe and on the medial side near the arch of your foot,” said sneaker enthusiast Jacques Slade. “With the rumored wooled Jordan 3 happening in a few months, it looks like Jordan Brand is definitely trying something new.”
The Air Jordan 12, which first released in 1996, remains one of the best-selling Air Jordans on the market. Its popularity stems from its iconic design and exceptional performance aspect.
Weartesters indicated that the Air Jordan 12 is equipped with a full-length Zoom Air setup which offers responsive cushioning. It caters to a wide array of players from shifty guards to towering centers.
It is still unclear whether or not the two upcoming retros will be playable on court. As of the moment, they are best categorized as lifestyle sneakers.
Both will release this Saturday. The Air Jordan 12 Retro “OVO” will retail for $225 on Nike.com. The Air Jordan 12 Retro “Wool Dark Grey” will be worth $200 on SNKRS.
