Get ready for a new Olympic-inspired colorway of the Air Jordan 5. Michael Jordan’s fifth signature sneakers will retro this weekend in a glossy “Bronze” variant.
The Air Jordan 5 Retro “Bronze” will round out Jordan Brand’s shoe collection for the 2016 Summer Games. It follows the recent releases of the Air Jordan 5 Retro “Metallic Gold” and “Metallic Silver” colorways.
As its name suggests, the upcoming sneakers will feature lustrous bronze on its heavily-padded tongue and insole. The iconic shark teeth print on the midsole is also painted in bronze with black speckled-paint effect.
Nike.com stated that the Air Jordan 5 Retro “Bronze” will have hints of red, bright grape and white along its predominantly obsidian upper. The Jumpman logo can be found at the tongue, heel, insole and outsole of the sneakers.
Its inner construction includes a mushy sleeve that acts as pillows for the heels and ankles. Cushioning is taken care of by Nike Air units located in the heel and forefoot areas.
The Air Jordan 5 Retro “Bronze” sports a blue translucent rubber outsole. It’s not a full-length setup since a white molded arch is placed at the center of the outsole to provide extra torsional support to the wearer.
There is a thin heel counter inside the sneakers which stops the foot from swerving side to side during sudden movements and hard cuts.
Nightwing2303 of Weartesters.com noted that ventilation is one of the best aspects of any Air Jordan 5 model. Air can easily flow in and out of the sneakers due to perforated holes on the medial and lateral sides as well as on the tongue.
