The fifth season of AMC’s hit zombie-themed show “The Walking Dead” had a lot in store for viewers, but it was the teaser for the upcoming spin-off “Fear The Walking Dead” aired during the season finale on March 29 that ignited the anticipation of fans from around the world.

Earlier this month, it was announced that AMC ordered two seasons for the spin-off, which seems to promise answers to questions such as: how did the zombie plague started?

The teaser shows the story will take place in Los Angeles. Based on the amount of doctors and medical paraphernalia, it looks like the series will focus more on the scientific side of the plague rather than the survival scenario the original “The Walking Dead” became famous for.

The show will premiere near the end of summer. The first season will comprise six episodes, while specific details for the second season is still tightly under wraps.

In an interview with Variety, actor Steven Yeun, who portrays fan favorite Glenn, has high hopes for the spin-off.

“I do hope it’s great. I hope it fills out our world. It’ll be cool to see what happens in that arena and where it goes.”

Talking with Access Hollywood, Norman Reedus, another fan favorite in “The Walking Dead,” talked about his character Daryl Dixon.

According to him, killing off certain characters onset is as devastating as it should be in real life.

“We keep it to the core group on this show and you get involved with them over time, and you see their losses and their triumphs and all these things and then, you lose one of them – it’s a lot like real life.”
