Legendary rockstar Joe Perry has been rushed to the hospital after he collapsed on stage during a concert with his side project in Coney Island on Sunday night.
The guitarist of Aerosmith band was performing with actor Johnny Depp and front-man Alice Cooper for Hollywood Vampires when he suffered from cardiac arrest around 9:30 pm, police sources said. He was taken to Coney Island hospital and his condition now is stated to be stable.
Fans took to Twitter on Sunday night to send their best wishes to Joe Perry. The 65-year-old was seen shredding on his guitar at the Ford Amphitheater at the Coney Island Boardwalk. Then he walked suddenly behind a speaker and stumbled backstage.
Video footages from the concert shared on social media showed the rock legend Joe Perry stumbling and then losing consciousness, Page Six reports. Sources said that police revived him. “He had to sit on drum kit and then went behind a small wall and passed out and FDNY and NYPD carried him off quickly,” wrote a concertgoer on Instagram.
The Hollywood Vampires was performing a cover of David Bowie’s classic “Rebel, Rebel” when Joe Perry was carried out on a stretcher. Later Copper announced to fans that Perry was not well around 10:00 pm, Fox News reports. Hollywood Vampires is a rock band and also includes Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Matt Sorum.
The band was formed by Perry, Depp and Cooper in 2015. Best wishes messages kept pouring on Twitter.
