American comedy series Key and Peele has been nominated for the 68th Emmy Awards for the category of Outstanding Variety Sketch Series.
Comedy Central’s Key and Peele will be competing in the same category with six other nominees, including last year’s winner Inside Amy Schumer from the same network.

Starring Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, the comedy series has won its first Emmy for Outstanding Makeup for a Multi-Camera Series or Special (Non-Prosthetic) in this year’s Emmy Awards. Since its first airing, it has been nominated 18 times in different categories.
Keegan-Michael Key has also been nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his portrayal. He has been nominated 10 times for the Emmy Awards, mostly in his role in Key and Peele, but he is yet to win his first Emmys.
The rest of the nominees for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series are Documentary Now!—IFC; Drunk History—Comedy Central; Inside Amy Schumer—Comedy Central; Portlandia—IFC; and Saturday Night Live—NBC.
Comedy Central, considered by many as a powerhouse for comedy variety shows, has a total of three entries for same category in this year’s Emmys. It has produced award-winning comedy series, including Inside Amy Schumer.
Inside Amy Schumer has won a total of three Emmys, including Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series (2016); Outstanding Variety Sketch Series (2015); and Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics (2015). It has also been nominated in 12 different categories in a span of two years.
