The 68th Emmy Awards are here and most of the major categories already have a crowd favorite. Not so much for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series as Anna Chlumsky and Allison Janney slug it out to the finish line.
Janney has been dominating the category for two consecutive years and with 7 Emmys to her name it’s easy to see why. But will her reign end today or is a three-peat a plausible prospect for the 56-year old actress?
According to Forbes, it’s probably the latter Allison Janney’s role as Bonnie Plunkett in “Mom” is already an established winner. But she’s not off the hook yet as another nominee could very well dethrone her.
Anna Chlumsky was also nominated for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Amy Brookheimer in “Veep”. After three nominations, many believe that the 68th Emmy Awards will be her fist big win.
Anna Chlumsky To Dethrone Allion Janney In 68th Emmy Awards?
According to Indiewire, HBO is probably gonna favor her over Niecy Nash when it comes to their PR love. If anyone has a shot at nabbing the award from Allison Janney, it has to be Chlumsky.
This would be her fourth consecutive Emmy nomination so Janney or not she’s bound to get that golden statuette sooner or later. Though sooner would be better and this could be her year.
Veep just recently concluded its fifth season back in June and is still going strong. HBO has already ordered a sixth season for 2017 but was the possibility of a sixth season really up for questioning?
The series has received the most nominations for a comedy this year and is slated to win most of them. Will Anna Chlumsky be among the winners?
