Could Allison Janney achieve a hat trick with another win for supporting actress in a comedy series in the 68th Emmy Awards? After all, she has won three out of her four nominations in the past two years and already has seven Emmy’s under her belt.
This year’s nomination is also for her role in the CBS sitcom “Mom” which also got her nominated last year. Compared to last year though, which set a record of eight nominations, the competition this year is a little less intense.
According to Haaretz, the series will be entering its fourth season next month owing much of its popularity to its unique premise. Much like Chuck Lorre’s “Two and a Half Men” it focuses on the everyday mishaps of a dysfunctional non-conventional family.
Allison Janney plays Allison Janney in the series who, along with her daughter Christy, is trying to recover from alcoholism and drug abuse. She, Christy and her granddaughter Violet are also single moms from which the series gets its title.
