There Are 101 Kinds Of Cheese On This Pizza And It’s Awesome

One pizza joint has just managed to make history with pizza. How did they do it? By putting loads and loads of cheese in a single pie.

Scottie’s Pizza Parlor knew they wanted to set a world record using their pizza. After all, if the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” could enjoy it, why couldn’t they?

Back in 2014, the hit movie featured a pizza made with 99 kinds of cheese. It was created by Johnny di Francesco, a world champion pizza maker from the 400 Gradi Pizzeria in Melbourne, Australia. He called his creation the Novantanove Formaggio pizza. In the film, Donatello had remarked that the pizza was proof that putting this much cheese on the pie was not a “culinary impossibility.” And so, Scottie’s decided to take things a step further by piling on a bit more cheese. The result? Their very own Centouno Formaggio or 101 Cheese Pizza.

A pizza with more cheese than you can imagine.

Scottie’s world-setting creation has all the cheese you would ever want on a pizza and more. It starts off with a delightful shredded blend of 55 cheeses. This includes Asiago, Cantal Jeune, Abbaye Belloc, Everton, Emmentaler, Gruyere, Monterey Jack, Munester, NocciolaPecorino, Raclette De Savoie, White Cheddar, Gouda and more. And then, it also gets a blend of 36 kinds of soft cheeses. These inlcude Brie Fermie De Jouvence, Brie Chevre Fermier, Bonde D’Antan, Rondin Nature, Talleggio, Toma Della Roca and more. And because that’s still not enough cheese, they go on to add a blend of nine grated dry cheeses. These include Machgeo, Pecorino, Parmiggiano Reggiano, Grana Padano and more.

To finish up the pizza, Scottie’s also added some aged whole milk mozzarella and their very own house-made ricotta cheese. Aside from that, they had also stuffed the crust with cheese for a full-on cheesy pizza experience.

Scottie’s owner Scottie Rivera said the pizza was quite an experience to eat. “With the first bite, you don’t know what to expect, so you can almost mistake it for a regular slice. Then you chew a little more and you start to get a lot of character here: there’s things going on, it’s almost hard to place,” he told Fox News.

Unfortunately, Scottie’s Centouno Formaggio was only made available until April 22. Cheer up though, you never know what the pizza joint will come up with next. Whatever it is, it should be amazing.
