ZTE has always been known for its cool sleek smartphones that can compete against the likes of big shot companies like Apple and Samsung. If one bothers to check, they can say that the Chinese tech company can be at the “top five list” of the companies that produce the best and coolest modems in town.


They are, however, not only known for the phones they create, but are now starting to get attention through their line of mini smart projectors that they have started producing. They started with the original Spro model and then upgraded it into the Spro2 version. This time, the Tech company from China has just recently released another version of this projector – the ZTE Spro Plus.

The new model from the Spro series is bigger and more powerful than its previous versions reports The Verge. The Spro Plus features an 8.4-inch 2K Super Amoled display with 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution which makes it more like a tablet sized device. It comes with 3GB RAM and either a 32GB or 128GB internal storage which is expandable up to 2TB through a microSD card.

The key specs of this device, according to GSM Arena, is the WXGA projector that is 1366 x 768 px with 500lm brightness and auto-focus which supports vertical and horizontal keystone correction.  It uses laser-phosphor projections instead or regular LED which helps it maintain its brightness, clarity and accurate focus on any surface. The latest Spro version can out an 80 inch picture from a 2.4 m distance.

ZTE Spro Plus will be available in two variants, one Wi-fi model and one LTE model. Both versions runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow but has a different chipset, processor, and GPU. The Wi-Fi model runs on a Snadragon 801 chipset with a quad core Krait 400 processor and Adreno 330 GPU.

The LTE version on the other hand runs on a Snapdragon 625 chipset, a quad core Cortex-A53 processor and an Adreno 506 GPU. Additionally, users can attach an external USB camera to the projector and make video-conference too . They can also make voice conference calls.

Other features of the Spro Plus projectors include a JBL sound system with stereo 4W Harman speakers with Dolby technology and high-performance Harman microphones. Te new projector will be launching in 2016 possibly in the middle of the year. No price has been announced yet.
