The 3D computer-animated film “Zootopia” had a huge $60 million-plus debut. The film is expected to dethrone Ryan Reynolds’ “Deadpool” from the box office. The action-thriller film “London Has Fallen” is also expected to snatch the second-place spot ahead of Deadpool.

According to Variety, Ryan Reynolds’ action film continues its strength in the box office. Studio executives and analysts of Deadpool believe the comic book movie will supersede and replace the R-rating record held by “Passion of the Christ,” which earned a healthy $370.8 million.

“Deadpool” has earned $287.6 million since the film fired up on February 12; the R-rated movie is expected to add another $20 million this weekend.

As stated by The Wrap, Disney’s “Zootopia” is expected to turn $60 million into $65 million on its opening weekend. However, experts are anticipating the income to be higher due to stellar word of mouth.

Not to mention, though, the track record of Disney Animation films such as the fantasy-comedy film “Tangled,” opening with $48 million; “Big Hero 6,” which received a healthy $56 million; and the musical fantasy film “Frozen,” with $67 million.

Jeff Bock, Exhibitor Relations analyst, said that Gerard Butler’s “London Has Fallen” will do better at the domestic box office than the other Butler film that opened last week, “Gods of Egypt.”

“The reviews are worse than the first one, and you wonder whether people remember the first one.”
