Zac Efron To Appear In Baywatch Movie With Dwayne Johnson
Hunk Zac Efron is part of the Baywatch movie cast, along with Dwayne Johnson, an entertainment website reports. But unlike the TV series, the movie, which is produced by Paramount and directed by Seth Gordon, is an R-Rated comedy and shall have a setup similar to the blockbuster hit “21 Jump Street” films.
Upon learning of Efron’s casting, Johnson immediately went to Twitter to welcome the young actor. He also hinted on the genre the movie would have, saying it is “big, fun and RATED R.”
In the movie, Johnson takes on the role of a “by-the-rules” lifeguard, who finds himself collaborating with a young, newbie and rule-breaker Efron, to save the beach they both adore from a vicious oil tycoon.
A Versatile Efron
Zac Efron’s popularity can be traced to his performance in “High School Musical” series that became Disney Channel Original Movie’s most successful project. His comedy prowess was later on tested when he was also cast in “Bad Neighbors” in 2014.
Meanwhile, Baywatch’s Johnson-Efron team-up is slated to hit the blockbuster following Johnson’s successful projects such as the “Fast and the Furious” series and the recent “San Andreas.”
Premiered in 1989 on NBC, “Baywatch” was abandoned after its first season but was later on revived and became a phenomenal worldwide.
