Reviewers of Xiaomi Mi 5 announced that the phone is a power-packed, worthy Mi 4 successor. This latest flagship model was recently launched at the Mobile World Congress last month in Barcelona.
On the other hand, Google’s Nexus 6P made by Huawei was unveiled last year. The phone is clad in metal and offers a decent Android experience. Let’s see how both phones are pitted against each other in terms of specifications, features and price.
Design and Display
Constructed with metal frames round the corners, the Xiaomi Mi 5 boasts a glossy glass black. The edges are chamfered, while the sides of the display have very thin bezels, rendering a sophisticated look. The plus point is that the device weighs way lesser than the Nexus 6P.
With slightly curved panels, it is easy to hold the Nexus 6p in hand comfortably. Built out of full metal chassis and chamfered edges, the Nexus 6P has the infamous antenna bands concealed aesthetically.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 has a smaller display size at 5.1-inches, while the Nexus 6P is designed with a 5.7-inch display. Mi 5’s display is made out of IPS LCD and offers resolutions of 1080×1920 pixels, whereas the Nexus 6P’s has an AMOLED display with 1440×2560 pixel QHD resolution with Gorilla Glass 4 protection, cites Day Herald.
Hardware and Software
The Xiaomi Mi 5 is packed with the latest Snapdragon 820 chipset and has already topped the benchmark test rankings. The Nexus 6P, on the other hand, is powered by a Snapdragon 810 SoC. Both phones have 3GB of RAM, but the Mi 5 128GB variant boasts 4GB of RAM.
The software is Android 6.0 Marshmallow for both devices. It should be also be noted that the Xiaomi Mi 5 is based upon MIUI 7, while the Nexus 6P offers stock Android experience.
Camera and Battery
The rear shooter on the Mi 5 touts a 16Mp sensor with phase detection autofocus, OIS (4-axis), dual-LED flash, etc. But the front shooter is 4MP with f/2.0 aperture size. On the contrary, the rear shooter on the Nexus 6P is 12.3MP featuring dual LED flash, while the front camera is an 8Mp sensor. As for the battery, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is packed with 3,000mAH battery, while the Nexus 6P features a 3,450mAH battery.
