What's This?

The Xiaomi Mi 5 came under the radar ever since it became one of the most coveted handsets lined up for release this year. With two more days to go for the handset to launch on Feb. 24 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, a new render was recently spotted that brought all hardware specs of the phone in the limelight.

In the past few months, there were several leaked renders of the Xioami Mi 5 specs and features that surfaced through reports, videos, images and benchmark database. However, the recently leaked report, as was spotted by GizChina, brought to light the major features of the phone as was speculated earlier. The only exception was, there were no information regarding the front facing camera unit and battery power.

The new revelations hint at a few changes in hardware specs compared to prior reports. The Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to come in two variants packed with several surprises. First off, you will have two options to choose from – a 3GB RAM model with 32GB memory capacity and a 4GB RAM model with 64GB memory capacity. There will be striking difference in camera feature depending upon the power of both devices. While the 16GB model will feature 16MP camera, the 64GB model will come with 26MP camera.

Both the phone variants are expected to share similar display size measuring 5.2-inches with 1,920×1,080 resolutions. There will be a physical home button on both devices. Other common features likely to appear on both phones include near-field communication (NFC) technology, Snapdragon 820, Qualcomm 3.0 fast charging and USB Type 3.0, reports IBTimes.

Although there’s no mention about the price of the Xioami Mi 5 in leaked renders, the phone is expected to come at a very affordable price. Xiaomi has always targeted the Asian market for its products, but this time plans may change. We’ll have to wait a couple of more days to find out if the Xiaomi Mi 5 launches in Europe and the US, reports PhoneArena.
