Meanwhile, the Xbox support team have also said that Xbox Live Core Services are not affected so users can still sign in and manage their accounts. At the same time, new customers are still be able to create an account at this time. In addition, the current outage also has no effect on buying items, downloading purchases or redeeming codes. Moreover, Live TV, Groove as well as the Movies & TV video store are also not affected, as well as all the apps on Xbox Live.
According to a report from the International Business Times, the Xbox Live outage was first reported at around 2 p.m. EST. Europe seems to be hardest hit by the outage with members in various parts of the UK as well as the Netherlands and Germany reporting service disruption. Meanwhile, in the U.S., members from New Jersey, Massachusetts, New York and Florida have reported service disruption.
