‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Unveils Jubilee In Deleted Scene
X-Men: Apocalypse has been facing a lot of criticism even after earning $103.3 million before its release in the U.S. Although fans are divided when it comes to their takes, a recently released deleted scene might change their mind.Advertisement
The scene features Jubilee, played by Lana Condor. She’s a mutant well-known amongst comic and animated series fans. Judging by the pictures shared by Collider, the scene may have been considered but was deleted to save screen time.
One part of the deleted scene would have taken fans back into time to get the feel of X-Men’s classical environment similar to the comics and animated series.
Also, in Fandango’s interview with Bryan Singer, the director said:
There was also a significant moment that sadly I had to cut. When they’re moving through the mall and Nightcrawler remarks about the other people that “they don’t fear us.” And he thinks the mall is this paradise, and that was my homage to Moscow on the Hudson, when Robin Williams came over to America during the height of the Cold War and saw a Bloomingdales and thought it was a temple. But no, it was just an ‘80s mall!”
Simon Kinberg, screenwriter and producer of X-Men: Apocalypse, also confirmed to Collider that Blu-ray and DVD owners will get the chance to watch Nightcrawler hilariously start a dance battle against a group of breakdancers.
In the interview, he also squashed a rumor. “Taylor Swift was never Dazzler, that was just us going to a concert that was misconstrued.”
Although we may never get to experience it in theatres, it has been confirmed that the deleted scenes will be available in Blu-ray and DVD releases. For now, thanks to a TV spot, we get a sneak peek at Jubilee and our young mutants chilling in the mall.
