WWE SummerSlam: Undertaker Defeats Lesnar, Avenges WrestleMania’s Loss
The headline of Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view was, without a doubt, the rematch of WrestleMania 30 between Brock Lesnar and the Undertaker. The latter was seeking revenge after Lesnar ended the Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania.
During the match, Lesnar had placed the Undertaker in a Kimura Lock when the bell rang. The referee, as it turned out, hadn’t called for the bell. The Undertaker delivered a low blow to Lesnar during the distraction, and then proceeded to put him in a Hell’s Gate submission. Lesnar soon passed out in the submission, and the match was awarded to the Undertaker.
Rollins wins over Cena
Another hugely anticipated match was between the World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and United States Champion John Cena. The two were competing in a title versus title match.
Cena had won the match, but unfortunately for him the referee had been knocked out. Jon Stewart came out, slammed a steel chair in Cena’s stomach and placed it in the ring so Rollins could pedigree Cena on the chair.
The results of some of the other matches include:
Sheamus emerged victorious in his match against Randy Orton.
The New Day won the tag team championship against The Prime Time Players (c), Los Matadores and Lucha Dragons.
Arrow star Stephen Amell and Neville won against Stardust and King Barrett.
Ryback (c) defeated The Miz and Big Show to win the Intercontinental Championship title.
