Triple H announced this Monday on WWE Raw that actor Stephen Amell and Neville will contest in a tag team match against King Barrett and Cody ‘Stardust’ Rhodes at WWE SummerSlam.

WWE SummerSlam: Amell Takes On Stardust

The decision came during Monday night Raw, which was attended by CW’s “Arrow” star. According to WrestleZone, he crossed the barricade, jumped into the ring and started assaulting Stardust. This prompted the security to come in and break the fight.

Triple H was not going to set up the match, as Amell is not a WWE superstar. But the actor said he was willing to sign whatever legal documents he needed to in order to have a contest against Stardust.

According to USA Today, Amell spoke about his family’s reaction over his feud with the WWE star.

“My sister said to me a couple of weeks ago, ‘So a guy from the WWE is taking shots at you?’” he said. “And I was, ‘Yeah.’ She goes, ‘I knew you at a time where this would have made your head explode.’ And she was not kidding.”

‘I was Fully Engrossed’

Amell has been a huge fan of the wrestling world ever since his first event at the Maple Leaf Gardens in the late 1980s. Wrestlers like Ultimate Warrior, Randy “Macho Man” Savage and Jake “The Snake” Roberts ruled the charts back then.

“I was fully engrossed at that point and I just remember sitting there being absolutely, utterly enthralled,” Amell said. “That event could have been nine hours long and it wouldn’t have bothered me in the slightest.”

Although Amell’s acting schedule keeps him away from staying updated with RAW, he regularly watches monthly pay-per-views and other shows on the WWE Network.
