WWE 2016: Best Booking Options For A Returning Luke Harper
Luke Harper may be nearing a return with reports that the former Wyatt Family member will be at the WWE Performance Center this coming week.Advertisement
Harper is coming off an ACL injury that saw him quietly exit the Wyatt family. All that happened before the celebrated WWE Draft which technically tore apart the uncanny faction.
Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan are on SmackDown while Braun Strowman has been showing off his brute strength against relatively smaller and unknown wrestlers save for Kalisto last Monday.
Harper as a free agent
With that said, Harper is technically a free agent who could pop up on either show. So where does the agile big guy best fit in?
There are several ways to be creative with Harper though his return should be meaningful. The easy way is to join SmackDown which could spark a possible reunion and resurrection of the disbanded Wyatt family.
With Bray Wyatt preying on Randy Orton, it could make sense. Also, it could give Erick Rowan some use as well. Rowan has not been seen so far on SmackDown shows.
If he ends up at Raw, it will be interesting how things stack for Harper. Pairing with Strowman doesn’t make sense though feuding with his former colleague could be interesting. He has the size and speed to frustrate Strowman, meaning he would transform into a face wrestler.
As a WWE star, there is no question that Harper has been sorely underutilized. Much of that may be because he has been under the shadows of the Wyatt family, something he doesn’t seem to mind.
But to succeed and move in the WWE, Harper needs to reinvent himself and establish himself either as a face or heel wrestler. Once he does get medical clearance, that could be something worth pondering – for himself and the WWE.
