Amway Center in Orlando, Florida on Sunday hosted the WWE’s 29th annual Royal Rumble event. Champion Roman Reigns defending his title made this year’s event special.
But Reigns couldn’t hold on to his title. This was the first time a WWE Heavyweight title defense match was included in Royal Rumble. So the fever was high.
There were 30 entrants, starting with Reigns and ending with Triple H. Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Sheamus and Triple H entered the final four of the competition.
Roman Reigns spent most of the times being beaten up outside the rings and receiving medical attention. He was eliminated for the maximum number of times. Kane entered his 17th Royal Rumble, which is a record.
AJ Styles, a New Japan and TNA champion, was a surprise package.
Triple H defeated defending champion Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose to win his 14th World Heavyweight title.
