What's This?

WWE Battleground 2016 takes place this coming weekend with the main event featuring champion Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns still intact. The all “Shield” affair is something that may prove interesting though there could be storyline changes.

Roman Reigns Turning Heel?

Reigns has long been out of the picture no thanks to a talent wellness policy violation that forced the WWE to suspend the former champion. Such create rumors of a possible WWE Battleground 2016 main event change but it looks like the card will stick.

But the question now is what kind of Reigns will we see? Will it be the same misunderstood hero who the WWE universe did not want to accept? Or will there be a long rumored character change that would call for Reigns to become heel?

The latter seems more feasible and will likely happen. Reigns could turn on Ambrose as a means to win back the WWE heavyweight title and carry on a new storyline from there.

Rollins To Become The Misunderstood Face?

Rollins has proven to be a good heel. But like most WWE greats, a new challenge could be in the horizon. It calls to mind how a legend like “Stonecold” Steve Austin did the trick, a move that could cement Rollins’ stardom moving forward.

It remains to be seen how Rollins can win over the fans and vacate the usual brags he has been making and such could happen this weekend.

Will Ambrose Retain His Title At WWE Battleground 2016?

Ambrose has done well as a champion and has won over the WWE fans. Though such has failed to jack up the ratings, it is hard to foresee the “Lunatic Fringe” losing his title unless something dastardly occurs.

Ambrose cannot let his guard down though the creative team will still make the last call. He could retain the title but get a beating before the night is over, something many are tying up with Reigns.

Whatever happens, tune in this Sunday when WWE Battleground 2016 gets underway at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC starting at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT. The pay-per-view will be streamed via the WWE Network.
