WWE Battleground 2015: Undertaker Returns, Tombstones Brock Lesnar
The Undertaker returned at the WWE Battleground and interrupted the main event – the World Heavyweight Championship between Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins – attacking Lesnar and delivering a chokeslam and a number of Tombstone Piledrivers, as reported by Bleacher Report.
The Undertaker’s attack left Lesnar – also known as “The Beast” – beaten in the middle of the ring. The match was declared as a no-contest.
The two wrestlers are set to face off one another at SummerSlam.
Lesnar is credited with ending the Undertaker’s winning streak at WrestleMania. Prior to that, the Undertaker had won 21 WrestleMania matches.
While the last time the Undertaker featured in SummerSlam was in 2009 (where he attacked CM Punk after Punk’s victory over Jeff Hardy for the World Heavyweight Championship) his last SummerSlam match was against Edge, whom he won over, in a Hell in a Cell was in 2008.
In other competitions, John Cena won the United States Championship by defeating Kevin Owens; Randy Orton emerged victorious in a brutal match against Sheamus; and the Prime Time Players (Titus O’Neil and Darren Young) retained the Tag Team Championship in a battle against The New Day’s Big E and Kofi Kingston.
