Randy Orton will try to redeem himself after a bloody WWE SummerSlam 2016 and his opponent will be the “Eater of Worlds,” Bray Wyatt.

This is actually a storyline that should have taken last year but Orton fell to a shoulder injury. Now that he is back up, the WWE rekindles the rivalry, which should be pretty interesting at WWE Backlash 2016 next weekend.

Wyatt cracked the ice last week on WWE SmackDown with his usual odd appearance. He issued a challenge to the “Viper,” which the latter immediately accepted. In fact, Orton was ready to go that night but Wyatt opted to employ his usual mind games on the “Apex Predator.”

Mind Games Galore Until WWE Backlash 2016

There will be technically one more SmackDown show happening this week before WWE Backlash 2016 on Sept. 11 at the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia. With the episode the last one, it will be interesting if the mind games will continue or something physical happens.

Interesting as well is whether this will be a pure singles match. One of Wyatt’s minions lurking quietly in the SmackDown roster is Erick Rowan, who has hardly been seen. Braun Strowman is on Raw, while Luke Harper is a free agent that is still on the mend.

Hence, instead of the dreaded triumvirate interfering – it could be purely one-on-one. Wyatt has proven to be a class act and the guy can wrestle.

Like what he has done in the past, Wyatt could be another factor that will help push Orton to new heights. That clash with Brock Lesnar was not the sleeper that most thought, but most are still wondering if the bloodbath was intentional or not.

Speaking of which, don’t count out a ‘brand war’ angle as well. If not Lesnar, someone from the Raw roster could come out and crash the match. Strowman could be an option, as he has been relegated to fighting unknowns to show off his power – something that realistically makes no sense at all.
