Russia and China are rising superpowers and they seem to have a common enemy: the United States. According to reports, Russia and China could destroy US satellites if they wanted to, given their hypersonic missiles could be better. Will America lose to Russia and China in the next world war?
The United States is reportedly preparing for a space. This is despite fears from its military chiefs that its satellites are now vulnerable and outdated. Top defense officials issued a warning to the United States about falling behind Russia and China. The two countries reportedly have space-age weapons that can knock out satellite systems.
Russia And China Plans To Destroy US Satellites?
Experts say that future conflict could start from outer space. The experts also said that if US sattelies go down then Earth could plunge into chaos. Internet will go down, TV sets will be blank while missile systems can be paralyzed.
“These satellites were built 15 years ago and launched during an era when space was a benign environment. There was no threat.” Daily Mail quoted Lt. Gen. David Buck, Commander of the Joint Functional Component Command for Space.
“Can you imagine building a refueller aircraft, or a jet for that matter, with no inherent defensive capabilities? So our satellites are at risk, and our ground infrastructure is at risk. And we’re working hard to make sure that we can protect and defend them,” added the official.
Hypersonic Missiles Better Than America’s?
Another report from RT says that Russia and China’s progress on missile technology can threaten America’s global dominance. The Air Force panel issued a report saying that US is falling behind the mentioned countries.
“United States may be facing a threat from a new class of weapons that will effectively combine speed, maneuverability, and altitude in ways that could challenge this nation’s tenets of global vigilance, reach, and power,” said Mark J. Lewis, the panel’s chair and a former US Air Force chief scientist.
