World Football: Cristiano Ronaldo Dismisses Concerns Over FIFA Scandal
It seems like FIFA President Sepp Blatter wants to hit the headlines for all wrong reasons, aimed at drawing every wrath on himself from the intellectual soccer stars, former or current.
The Angry Young Man
But one man doesn’t exactly care about FIFA scandals and corruption. He is no other than Real Madrid‘s superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, the FIFA world player of the year. The maverick star feels that sport heroes love discussing “women, shoes, haircuts and suitcases” instead.
Currently, the Portuguese pulled out of Real’s campaign in Audi Cup in Munich after complaining of bad back during training.
Ronaldo answered angrily to interviewer Andres Oppenheimer’s questions and dismissed concerns over the awarding of the 2022 World Cup to Qatar. This was during an interview conducted by CNN Español on Monday during the Spanish club’s U.S. tour where he hoped to promote a range of headphones.
“Do you want me to be honest? It doesn’t worry me at all. I do my profession, my job, I give me all for my club … the rest doesn’t matter to me. I don’t care what happens on the outside,” revealed Ronaldo after he was asked whether the multi-million scandal is an issue for his teammates or not.
The flamboyant superstar’s agendas of dressing rooms are very different from FIFA politics.
“About music, about women, about fashion, about shoes, about suitcases/bags, about jewellery, about haircuts … any more you want me to list?”
“I can’t speak like that,” he says. “This is bullshit. Speak about Fifa, I don’t care about Fifa. And Qatar … I don’t give a fuck. What you want me to do? Speak about the product, he speaks of FIFA…..come on…”
