As the Wonder Woman movie nears its public release, fans are expecting some plot reveals from the studio as well. Although Warner Bros. and director Patty Jenkins are tight-lipped, actors in the movie have finally begun sharing details about their roles.


Recently, a new villain for the stand-alone female movie has been revealed. Furthermore, the role will be played by Spanish actress Elena Anaya.

The 41-year-old actress is known for her roles as Belen in “Sex and Lucia” and Aleera in “Van Helsing.” Anaya has been added on IMDb as a cast member in Wonder Woman. But her role remains a mystery.

Anaya confirmed her casting in Wonder Woman during a recent interview with Sensacine. Unfortunately, the video isn’t for English readers as the interview was carried out in Spanish.

According to a translation by Reddit user, the interviewer questioned Elena Anaya “You’ve recently worked wonder woman, another adaptation of comics to the big screen. Tell us something about your role in the movie.”

The actresses confirmed to the query that (Translated on Reddit) “she has a small role” and “the movie is from Patty Jenkins and that gal gadot is the protagonist.” Furthermore, she revealed that her role would “be a nightmare for both of them [Diana and Steve Rogers].” Fans can also watch the video here.

Fans are speculating that Elena Anaya would play Circe from DC Universe. The supervillain has made her appearance on screen in the Justice League animated TV series. The fictional character is known to be an immortal sorceress and a rival who intends to destroy the Amazonians.

Directed by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman will be released on June 2, 2017. Furthermore, supervillain Ares has been confirmed to appear.
