If you are already running Windows 10 on your system, you must be aware of how frequently Microsoft updates this operating system. While shutting down my laptop, I come across two options: “Shut Down” and “Update and Shut Down.” If you choose to update the system, your machine will have a big list of changes. But how can you check what updates were brought to your laptop/desktop? Here is how to check Windows 10 update history:Advertisement
If you want to check what updates have been installed, or you want to install/uninstall new updates, follow this procedure: Go to Start > Settings > Update and Security. This page will appear:
As you can see, there are a number of options and pages. The “Windows Update” screen will open by default. The very first line will tell you when you last updated your system. If you have already updated your machine, click on “Advanced Options.” You will then be directed to this page:
Here, you can choose how your updates get installed. Either choose an automatic update or the option “Notify to schedule restart.” For the history, click on View your update history:
You will then arrive at a page where all updates are listed. You will also be informed whether the updates have been successfully installed or failed. Clicking on the “Successfully Installed” notification will provide you additional information about the update. You can again click on “More Info,” after which you will be directed to the Microsoft Support page where information about individual updates is provided in detail.
On your Windows 10 Update History Page, you will also see an option at the top of the page to uninstall updates.
