At last, the wait is over. The rumors of Windows 10 mobile release every fifteen days followed by the postponement of the update had become frustrating beyond imagination. Finally, Microsoft has officially announced the roll-out of the update. Let’s see what the company has to say about the update and which lucky Lumia users are getting Windows 10 mobile update.

Michael Fortin, CVP Windows and Devices Group Core Quality, announced the Windows 10 mobile release via the Windows Blog. In the announcement post, he confirmed that Windows 10 is rolling out on select Windows 8.1 devices. To download the update, you will first need to download the Windows 10 Upgrade Advisor app from the Store.

Windows 10 is currently being rolled out on few devices. The reason? Fortin, on the company’s behalf in the post, said, “As Windows 10 delivers significant new innovations, many older devices are not able to successfully upgrade without an impact on the customer experience. Our goal is to only offer the Windows 10 upgrade to devices that we are confident can continue to deliver a good customer experience.”

It looks like, for the love of this new operating system, you will finally be left with no choice but to buy a brand new Windows 10 mobile. Even though the update has been released for select devices that Microsoft feels will be able to support Windows 10, one can doubt things to go smoothly. If they do, that’s great. But if they don’t, considering older devices not made to support something as big as Windows 10, problems may arise.
