WhatsApp Desktop Version

The desktop version works similar to that of the web version and will sync with your smartphone whenever you log in. QR code acts as a medium to sync the mobile version and the Web version of the app.

To sync, users will have to scan the QR code that will appear on the computer screen upon visiting the WhatsApp website. Similarly, the desktop app works to mirror conversations that appear on your smartphone. However, both your smartphone and your computer must be connected to the Internet.

Viber Desktop Version

In order to use the Viber application on your person computer, users will have install it and login with their account, which has been created through their smartphone. Unlike WhatsApp, Viber application runs independently on your computer. However, Viber has been receiving positive feedback because of functionalities that are not present on other messaging apps.

WhatsApp vs Viber: The Conclusion

The desktop version of Viber is a real plus point. Moreover, the application also allows you to use their messages and make video calls. Call transfer from different devices is available as well. These features are not available on the desktop version of WhatsApp. But if WhatsApp developers are really working on a video calling feature, then the WhatsApp vs Viber debate will heat up a notch.
