Former U.S. Marine Iran Detainee Comes Home
Former U.S. Marine Amir Hekmati has finally arrived in the United States after being detained by Iran for more than four years. He arrived in his hometown of Flint, Michigan aboard a private jet where he was welcomed with a small red carpet on the tarmac. Upon arrival, Hekmati said, “It’s great to be back in Flint, my hometown. I love this city. I love its people. They have been so good to me and my family and we are very grateful.”
In 2011, Hekmati was arrested in Iran and was accused of being a U.S. spy. The United States denied Iran’s claim. Nonetheless, Hekmati was sentenced to death the following year, although his sentence was later commuted to a 10-year prison term.
According to a report from Reuters, another former Iran detainee, pastor Saeed Abedini, is scheduled to arrive in Atlanta before flying to Asheville, North Carolina to reunite with his wife and family on Thursday.
NY Ex-Con Threatens To Kill Cops, Pledges Loyalty To ISIS
New York ex-con Marcus Shelton had surrendered himself to a parole officer after New York City police received a tip that Shelton had pledged loyalty to ISIS and threatened to kill cops. The tip came by way of an anonymous phone call, stating that the ex-con intends to shoot a police officer. Moreover, the Philadelphia Police Department had also received a similar call.
Shelton has had 20 prior arrests and has also served time for assault and drug possession. He was found to be in violation of his parole after being found to possess marijuana. He had also reportedly bent an NYC MetroCard in order to get free rides.
Earlier this month, a police officer in Philadelphia was shot by a gunman who had pledged his loyalty to ISIS.
ISIS Asks Sheiks To Fight “Infidels” With Them
ISIS had recently held a meeting with sheikhs from various clans in the city of Deir Ezzor in Syria. During the meeting, the Islamic State talked about “the need for the sheikhs of the clans and their clans to support the Islamic state in the fighting against the infidels.” However, the said meeting reportedly went on with the clans not swearing allegiance to ISIS themselves.
At the same time, activists from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that ISIS had just released 270 detainees. They were among the 400 who were in kidnapped less than a week ago in al-Bogeleyyah, Der-Ezzor. Among those freed were men, women and children under 14. The remaining detainees will reportedly be under investigation and those found supporting the regime forces will be sent to attend a Shariaa course.

A song collaborated on by Miley Cyrus and Kanye West back in 2013 has gotten leaked. It was a remix of West’s song “Black Skinhead.” The said remix was reportedly shelved after Cyrus’ controversial performance at the MTV Video Music Awards that same year. Nonetheless, “Black Skinhead” was released online on Wednesday night.

Season 3 of the “The 100” has just started and features a very intriguing time jump with Clarke (a.k.a. Death Commander or Wanheda) “still broken and still running away from what she’s done,” according to Jason Rothenberg during an interview with TV Line.
Meanwhile, in “The Flash,” Barry finds himself face to face with alternate versions of his close friends, Caitlin Snow and Ronny Raymond during the episode “Welcome to Earth-2,” which airs on February 9. And in “Arrow,” the character of Vixen is set to join the cast when she appears in episode 15.
