The Wonder Woman scene in “Batman vs. Superman” earned a better critical reception than the movie itself. With the film’s run in the box office approaching its end, Warner Bros. released the scene from the movie that highlights the Amazon’s debut.
According to Comic Book, Warner Bros. Japan has released a high-resolution clip from “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” showing the Amazon Warrior’s debut on the film. The clip shows Wonder Woman saving Batman from Doomsday by blocking the latter’s attack before it blows Batman to shreds.
The scene, which many consider one of the highlights of the whole film, earned a standing ovation during its premiere. The film received mixed reactions. Fans enjoyed most of the film, while critics slammed it for having a bland storyline.
Despite the bad rap the film received, two things were apparently done right by the makers: the introductions of Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Both casting choices were pummeled with doubts and questions, with many predicting they would be the worst choice. With both heroes’ upcoming solo films already in the works, the good reception provided an extra boost of confidence to the makers.
Screen Rant reported that director Zack Snyder has not provided further details about the film’s R-rated extended cut. It has been suggested by Jesse Eisenberg that Lex Luthor’s storyline has been trimmed before the film was released.
The question on everyone’s mind involves whether or not home viewers will get to witness more scenes involving Wonder Woman from the film, or just more battles between Superman and Batman. With her origin story set to be released in a movie, any details about Diana Prince’s alter ego is a welcome treat.
“Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” is currently showing in theaters. Wonder Woman is currently in production and is set to be released on June 02, 2017.
