Bulldozers from two rival companies in China were seen battling it out on the streets of Xingtang County in Hebei Province.
The conflict involved six bulldozers, and the entire incident was captured in a video by a witness. Two of the bulldozers can be viewed in the video slamming into each other with their shovels. The remaining ones are seen trying to escape the scene. The footage, which was subsequently posted on YouTube, has since racked up as many as 1.6 million views.
As reported by the Associated Press, one person was able to escape a toppled wheel loader, a fast moving type bulldozer.
Xu Feng, a local government spokesman in Hebei province’s Xingtang county, said that the conflict arose as a result of the two rival companies competing against each other for business.
Clouds of dust enveloped the scene. A few cars could be seen trying to get out of the way of the scene of the conflict. The bulldozers continued to fight it out with each other.
Commenting on the video, one person wrote, “Transformers gone rogue!” Meanwhile, another person said, “Should’ve got[ten] out and fought like a man.”
A Twitter user described the scene, saying, “Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about… a bulldozer fight.”
As reported by the South China Morning Post, the conflict came to an end only when the police arrived at the scene.
People were injured and vehicles were damaged in the incident. The fight came in the midst of the growing economic problems in China. According to a recent article, China’s economy has risen by only 6.7 percent, the lowest in seven years. A large percent of the downslide is attributed to the weakening construction business.
The incident is currently being investigated by the police.
