Stephen Curry scored 40 points as the Golden State Warriors rallied from a 23-point first-half deficit to defeat the Los Angeles Clippers 124-117 on Thursday. Warriors became only the fifth team in NBA history to start a season 13-0.

Curry finished with 40 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.

The Warriors shot an incredible 73% in the final quarter as Klay Thompson finished with 25 points, Harrison Barnes with 21 while Draymond Green added 19.

The Warriors went on an amazing 25-8 run in the final stretch to seal the deal. The momentum shifted when Thompson hit corner three for a 113-112 lead with 2:43 left (watch below). Jamal Crawford responded with a 3 as the Clippers returned to lead 115-113. From that point forward, Curry took over with another 3 and four straight free throws to end any hopes of a Clippers fightback.

For the Clippers, Chris Paul led the way with a season-high 35 points. Blake Griffin added 27 points while Crawford, who started ahead of injured JJ Redick, finished with 15 points.

No 13 proved lucky for the Golden State Warriors tonight.

The Warriors are off to NBA’s best start since Dallas went 14-0 in 2002-03.
