‘The Voice’ Christina Grimmie Dead: Who Is The Killer?
“The Voice’s” Christina Grimmie passed away at 22 after being shot at an Orlando concert venue. The question is, who shot her? Who is the killer who committed suicide? Adam Levine, her mentor on the said reality singing competition, expressed his disbelief and grief when the news of the attack broke out.Advertisement
Grimmie’s publicist confirmed the report to E News. It is with a heavy heart that we can confirm that Christina has passed and went home to be with the Lord,” the publicist said.
The publicist also provided some of the details behind the attack and announced the family has a GoFundMe page for which her fans can donate to help Grimmie’s family in this dark time.
“She was shot at her show in Orlando and, unfortunately, didn’t survive the gun shot wounds. We ask at this time that you respect the privacy of her family and friends in their time of mourning,” the publicist shared. “If you’d like to give back to Christina’s family in her memory, please consider donating to the families GoFundMe page in their time of need,” the publicist added.
The former “Voice” contestant was rushed to a local hospital in Orlando, Fla. following the incident but was not saved. The attacker, an unidentified male suspect, was tackled by Grimmie’s brother after pulling the trigger. The suspect however, still managed to shoot himself.
“Upon arrival officers found the male suspect, who was deceased and one victim who was gravely injured. That victim, singer Christina Grimmie, was transported to the hospital with critical injuries,” the Orlando Police tells E! News.
“Detectives were told the suspect, who is not being identified at this time, walked toward Christina and shot her. Christina’s brother immediately tackled the suspect stopping him from causing any more harm to Christina and her fans. During the struggle, the suspect shot himself. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Christina was signing autographs with the band “Before You Exit” at the Plaza Live in Orlando when the whole tragedy happened. Before the said event, Christina even tweeted to her followers to invite them to the said event.
A motive for the shooting has not been determined as of this time.
“We don’t know if he was just a crazy fan that followed her on Twitter or on social media. We really don’t know,” Orlando police spokeswoman Wanda Miglio said, and reported by Click Orlando. “This is a very tragic event. This should have been something that was fun and exciting, and for something like this to happen is just a tragedy.”
Grimmie is best known as the contestant of “The Voice” season 6. On her audition, her unique voice made all four coaches turn their chairs. She ultimately decided to choose Adam Levine as her mentor. She finished strong in the competition, getting the third spot.
