“The Vampire Diaries” season 8 is speculated to see the return of Nina Dobrev. However, Ian Somerhalder is not okay with the idea. Will he leave if Nina Dobrev returns?
The actor seemed like he does not want Nina Dobrev, former cast of the hit vampire show, to return for the last season of The Vampire Diaries even when showrunner Julie Plec hinted on the possibility.
At the recent San Diego Comic Con 2016, Ian Somerhalder and the executive producer were welcoming questions about the upcoming “The Vampire Diaries” season 8 when a fan asked about the possibility of a return for the cast members who previously bid their goodbyes.
Iam Somerhadler seemed to have lost his cool when he immediately snapped at the fan saying there’s no way a return of previous characters will take place.
Nina Dobrev, his former on-screen partner and ex-girlfriend, left the CW show on its season 6.
But Julie Plec said that Nina Dobrev might return for the finale, as they have agreed beforehand, Celebrity Dirty Laundry reported.
She said, “Not to put too much pressure on anything Nina Dobrev..but a promise was made. An emotional promise that I’d like to see come to life. You heard it here…there’s been friendship promises made, and now we’ll see if we can deliver on them.”
But then Ian Somerhalder quipped, “I thought we had a conversation about that, apparently not.”
Could there be a hidden reason why Ian Somerhalder does not want Nina Dobrev’s return in “The Vampire Diaries” season 8?
Reports are saying that Ian Somerhalder’s wife Nikki Reed does not want him to reunite with his former flame even when it is just for show. This results to allegations that the couple might head for divorce.
