Valentine’s Day is just a few weeks away. With the season of love upon us, we track down the four greatest romances in NBA history – both on and off the court.

Kobe and Vanessa Bryant

In the summer of 2003, Kobe and Vanessa welcomed their first child and everything was hunky-dory in the Bryant household. Not long after becoming a papa, Bryant was accused of raping a hotel worker in Colorado – where he was rehabbing his knee. Their world nearly fell apart and Bryant’s image was tarnished. How did he get Vanessa to forgive him? A seven-figure diamond ring. Today, the couple remain happily married after surviving a series of trials and tribulations.

Steve Francis and Cutino Mobley

This Houston Rockets duo played, lived and practiced together. When Mobley was traded to Sacramento in 2002, Francis said, “Him (Mobley) not being here is going to be tough for me. I don’t know what I’m going to wake up for.” Many years later, Charles Barkley, who played with the famous tandem, suspected that his former teammates were homosexuals. “I didn’t think it…they were gay,” he said. Nobody knows the truth. Fact is, both Mobley or Francis are married men.

Toni Braxton and the Dallas Mavericks

Long before Mark Cuban purchased the franchise, the Dallas Mavericks were perineal lottery riders that never sniffed the postseason. By 1995, all that losing paid off as they struck gold by drafting the “Three J’s” – Jason Kidd, Jim Jackson and Jamal Mashburn. Just when it seemed like Mavs were going to be saved, Kidd, Jackson and pop star Toni Braxton were embroiled in a love triangle. This messy love story caused major tension and forced the Mavs to trade all three players.

Tony Parker and Eva Longoria

The Spurs point guard and the popular actress were married for three years, between 2007 and 2010, until Longoria found dozens of text messages on her husband’s phone. The other woman turned out to be Erin Barry, the wife of Parker’s teammate, Brent Barry. Later, Longoria revealed via Facebook pictures that the Parkers and Barrys socialized frequently. In 2011, after the couple finalized their divorce, Longoria revealed that Parker was cheating with more women!
