Jeb Bush has formally announced his presidential bid for U.S. elections 2016 with a speech delivered at Miami Dade College. He said he is the most accomplished leader running for the 2016 presidential seat. He vowed to declare war with the current political culture shaped by the Obama administration. He particularly targeted one contender, the former secretary of state, Hillary Clinton. “The presidency should not be passed on from one liberal to the next,” he said of Clinton.

Unlike other presidential contenders, Bush was very clear about one thing – that his speech is actually the jumpstart of his campaign.

“Miami-Dade College. This is a place that welcomes everyone with their hearts set on the future – a place where hope leads to achievement, and striving leads to success. For all of us, it is just the place to be in the campaign that begins today,” Bush said in his speech.

War on Washington

Bush was straightforward in his speech, saying that the party that runs the White House at present “is planning a no-suspense primary, for a no-change election.”

The current administration wants to “hold onto power,” he said. “To slog on with the same agenda under another name: That’s our opponents’ call to action this time around. And you and I know that America deserves better.”

Bush was highly critical of the present administration, saying it promised a progressive agenda that includes everything except progress. He said the current leaders are responsible for the slowest economic recovery, “the biggest debt increases ever, a massive tax increase on the middle class, the relentless buildup of the regulatory state, and the swift, mindless drawdown of a military that was generations in the making.”

He describes the Obama-Kerry’s foreign policy as “phone-it-in” that the tandem is “leaving a legacy of crises uncontained, violence unopposed, enemies unnamed, friends undefended, and alliances unraveling.

To all these, Bush could only think of one solution: “I have decided. I am a candidate for president of the United States.”

Bush as president

When he gets elected, he promises to differ from presidents who “hold the top spot among the pampered elites of Washington.” He will be out there with the people.

“I will campaign as I would serve, going everywhere, speaking to everyone, keeping my word, facing the issues without flinching, and staying true to what I believe.”
